Windows updates released on 9/20/2016 are causing PRC Accent® devices running Windows 10 to display the Windows Lock Screen when waking from sleep mode. This screen is normally disabled on Accent devices as it requires a swipe, keyboard press or mouse click to continue, and many of our clients would have difficulty providing any of those inputs. Additionally, this process conflicts with NuVoice® and will sometimes cause the device to reboot. Finally, screen auto-rotation is turned on. We are working on a patch to correct the problem, but until that time we are encouraging all users of Accent devices to take one of the following actions:
Update: With the NuVoice 2.07 Software update, Windows update controls will now function properly with Windows 10. Setting updates to “Never” will prevent any Windows updates from installing and allow Customers to access the internet safely.
Note: This will reduce battery life until the normal setting is restored.
To fix screen rotation issue, follow the instructions here.
We will post additional information when we have a more permanent workaround or a software patch available.
