When Software Updates are available for your ECO-14 device, you will find them posted under the Manuals / Software Downloads tab on the PRC home page. Click on Manuals / Software Downloads, then ECO-14, then Software Updates. Here you will find the latest version of software available.
Read the instructions before beginning the update.
You may want to print this page and then proceed to the update.
To download and install this update you will need:
Your ECO and the ECO battery charger. The system software you are currently using in your ECO should be a lower version than the version you want to download. Look at the "System Information" box in the MAINTENANCE MENU to check your current software version.
After the update you will need to reset the device to Factory Defaults.
On Your Computer
1. Download the ECO software update file from the PRC website to your computer desktop.
2. Plug the USB flash drive into the USB port on your computer.
3. Copy the update file to your USB flash drive.
4. Remove the USB flash drive from your computer port and keep it nearby.
On Your ECO
1. If you have made any changes to your device vocabulary, save the vocabulary to your USB flash drive before starting the update.
2. Plug in the ECO battery charger.
3. Turn On the ECO.
4. Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on the right side of the ECO
5. Go to the Toolbox and open the MAINTENANCE MENU.
6. Select the Update Software option. Answer YES. (If have not plugged in the ECO battery charger, do it now.)
7. When the update is completed, go to the Toolbox. Open the MAINTENANCE MENU and select the Reset to Factory Defaults option.
8. If you saved vocabulary in Step 1, load it back into the ECO now.
9. Remove the USB drive from your ECO and put it in a safe place. You may also unplug the battery charger if you wish.
