Katherine is a special educator who has worked in the field of Assistive Technology and Augmentative Communication for many years. She holds a Master’s degree in Special Education with a concentration in Assistive Technology from the University of Louisville and an Assistive Technology Professional certification from RESNA (The Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America). She has extensive experience in the field of AAC and provides AAC/AT consultation, training, and evaluation services to various schools, hospitals and vocational programs in Hawaii and American Samoa. Kathy has worked extensively with individuals who use augmentative communication systems, as well as with their families and support teams. She has created therapy materials for literacy development in AAC.
