Helping The AAC Communities Affected By Hurricanes Harvey And Irma

Updated to reflect the impact of Hurricane Irma

They broke records, destroyed homes and devastated neighborhoods. Coming into Texas and Florida as Category 4 whirlwinds, Hurricanes Harvey and Irma brought unprecedented destruction to the city of Houston and surrounding areas and the entire state of Florida.

All of us at PRC and Saltillo are committed to helping our AAC communities in the locations ravaged by the storms as they struggle to rebuild.

Our donation of $10,000 to the United States Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (USAAC) is just one way we can help AAC communicators, their families and their support teams affected by Hurricane Harvey get back on their feet.

You can help. Every dollar you donate, we’ll match, up to an additional $10,000.

Update: We are extending our assistance to those impacted by Hurricane Irma with another $10,000 donation. We will also match this donation, again up to $10,000.

You can make your donation online at the USAAC website.

We are here to help. If you or someone you know needs assistance with their AAC solution as a result of this storm, please contact us. One of our staff has volunteered to coordinate our response:

Continuing Support for the AAC Community

As the waters recede and damage assessments begin, we will also begin reaching out to schools, clinics and other organizations to understand their needs and assist them in every way possible.

In the coming days, people affected by Harvey and Irma will have many needs beyond recovering their communication capabilities. Below are just a few of the avenues available to make other donations.

Thank you for your donation. Thank you for helping. Thank you for caring.
