PRC-Saltillo response to COVID-19: prc-saltillo.com/covid-19
Due to public health concerns about the Covid-19 virus, PRC-Saltillo will only be providing in-person trainings when we can comply with CDC and local guidelines, and we feel we can ensure the health and safety of our hosts, attendees, and trainers. As conditions change, trainings may be moved online, as necessary. If you have questions about PRC-Saltillo trainings, please email email@example.com.
Basic requesting is a good place to start when introducing someone to communicating with AAC. However, requesting is only one of many reasons people communicate. This one-hour implementation class reviews how people use language to communicate and what you can do to help individuals get beyond basic requesting. Practical examples and materials will be used throughout the training.
This is a beginner/advanced beginner class intended for those who are new to the field of AAC.

This course is offered for 0.1 ASHA CEUs (Introductory level, Professional area).
This was an excellent course that efficiently covers additional ideas for intervention with students who use AAC. It's easy to get stuck in the "requesting mode." This takes you out of that place to expand to teaching other functions of communication within a naturalistic environment. I have some great therapy ideas and techniques. Thank you! Becky M.
PRC's online trainings are quick and efficient. I loved that I could take my lunch to learn something new that I could start incorporating immediately into my therapy plans. Teresa H.
This was a great course for learning how to move beyond requesting. Too often, students will only request and before this course, I had no idea how to design lessons and activities to help students learn to use their device for other language functions. Diane B.
Beth was a confident trainer who truly understood and had passion about the topic. She was prepared and had us involved as much as possible, which really made the experience richer. She also used her personality and spoke with emotion. So many trainings are boring with a Ben Stein-esque trainer who drones on the whole time. This was NOT one of them. Justin S.
