In this 60 minute recorded class participants will learn about emergent literacy instruction for individuals who use AAC. The first portion of the class defines emergent literacy, discusses its components and reviews goals for the emergent reader. The bulk and remainder of the class discusses strategies to use with an emergent reader, specifically shared reading practices. Practical examples and materials are provided in order for participants to begin literacy instruction with those who use AAC.
