You may have to make several adjustments to the TableStand to achieve the right position. Depending on the size of your communication aid, you can set up the mount so the legs are facing towards or away from you. Note: Larger devices should have the legs facing toward you for more stability. Your mount was compacted to be as flat as possible for shipping. You will need to make some adjustments before setting up.
NOTE: Your knobs and levers may look slightly different than those shown in photos provided. The operation of the Stand will remain the same however. Setting Up Your TableStand:
1. Your Quick Release Mounting plate will probably be packaged in a way that prevents you from turning the Adjustment Lever #1. You must first orient the mounting plate by adjusting it by hand and moving it away from the lever.
Once adjusted, you will now be able to rotate the adjustment lever and position the Quick Release Mounting plate to suit your needs.
2. The vertical pole on the mount was shipped in a horizontal position so it will need to be re-positioned. To do this, first loosen the black Adjustment Knob on the Swivel Joint. Be careful not to over loosen so that the knob comes off, but just enough that the bar can move freely.
Now, push in on the silver button on the pole and slide the pole through the intersection, until the silver button pops out on the other side.
3. Rotate the pole so it is in the vertical position; next tighten the black Adjustment Knob taking care not to over tighten. 4. Adjust the Quick Release Mount to face the outward position. Turn the Adjustment lever #1 until tight. 5. You can now loosen the second Adjustment Lever #2 to raise or lower the Quick Release Mount on the vertical bar to the proper position.
6. Slide your communication aid into the Quick Release Mount until you hear the pin click into position on the wheelchair plate on the back of the device. Important: To avoid accidents, you may need to remove the device to make any necessary adjustments to the TableStand. Reattach the device when finished. Note: With large and heavy devices it is important that the TableStand be placed on a flat and steady surface to reduce any tendency to tip. Also be aware that the TableStand may slide about when the keyboard or touch screen is directly accessed. If this occurs, additional modification may be necessary. Traveling with the Mount: When traveling with this mount, one leg can be removed to minimize the size of the mount.
Using a 6mm Allen Wrench, remove the bottom screws of one of the legs. These screws may have been assembled using Loctite to keep the screws in place, making them difficult to remove. Strong muscle may be required!
You can also slide the vertical bar out of the Swivel Joint. Note: It is recommended that you do not remove the black knob and break the mount down completely since this can cause damage to the adjustment knob and threaded rod. You may want to take along a bag to slip all the mount pieces into to prevent them from being lost and don't forget to bring your Allen Wrench for re-assembly. |
