How do I Import my Memory into the Vantage/Vanguard/SpringBoard PASS software?

Once you have saved your vocabulary from your device to the USB flash drive or have your MTI file transferred to your computer that contains the PASS software, importing your MTI file will be easy.  Please follow these instructions:

Special Note:  Although these photos give the example of Vantage/Vanguard PASS, the screens will all be similar in the Springboard PASS.

1.  Open the PASS software and select TOOLS at the top of your screen.

This is a picture of the PASS software and the Tools menu flagged.

2.  Click on Memory Transfer.

3.  Select one of the LOAD features, Load One User Area or Load Entire Device Contents ,depending on how your vocabulary was originally saved.

This is a picture of the Transfer Memory Menu in PASS.

4.  Select the file you want to load by changing the "Look In" folder (1) to the appropriate location and clicking on the file you want to import (2).  Verify that you select the correct file (3) and click on OPEN (4)

This is a picture of the File Selection screen in PASS.

5.  You will now see "Memory Transfer in Progress".  When the file is loaded, select OK twice to exit the Memory Transfer menu.

6.  From the Toolbox, select Go To Minspeak (blue key at the bottom).  Do you see the correct vocabulary? If Yes, fantastic, you are in the correct user area.

7.  If No, you will need to switch user areas to find the correct one.

Please follow these instructions if you need help with Switching User Areas:

A. Go to the OPTIONS or SPECIAL KEYS tab on the top of your PASS software and click on GO TO TOOLBOX.

B. When you see the Toolbox screen, press the key labeled CHOOSE OVERLAY MENU or USER AREA MENU.

This is a picture showing the Toolbox and the Choose Overlay menu.

C.  The user area you are currently using will be listed in the text area at the top.  Activate the Switch User Area option.

D. Select the Area you want to switch to. If you are not sure what area you were using on the device, you can open the Toolbox on the device and select CHOOSE OVERLAY MENU or USER AREA MENU and your current area will be listed in the text bar at the top of your screen. Select OK and Go To Minspeak.

Important Note:  If the device is not available and if you are not sure what the name is of the Area you generally use, you may have to troubleshoot by switching to a different overlay, then select OK and Go To Minspeak to see if that is the correct user area, if it is not, you will need to follow steps A through D again for each user area until you find the correct user area.  When you find the correct user area, you may want to take the time to Rename User area in the Choose Overlay menu to avoid this problem in the future.

Below you will find an example of the 6 default user area names.  User areas 1 - 3 are listed in the first column, areas 4 - 6 are in the second column.
