How do I Transfer Memory from an AlphaTalker to a MAC?

IMPORTANT NOTE!  If your are using a MAC that has a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port you will need to purchase a USB Serial Adapter to plug into your MAC. These are available where Macintosh computers are sold.

1. Plug one end of the MTI cable that came with your MTI into the RS232 port on the AlphaTalker. Plug the other end of the cable into the modem port (there is a small picture of a telephone handset next to this port) on your computer.
2. On the AlphaTalker, remove the keyguard and overlay.
3. Put the device into Tools.
4. Activate Set Baud Rate (C4).  57600 should flash at F4 (Load Memory From Disk). If it doesn't, activate C4 again, and then activate F4 right away and it will start flashing. The baud rate has now been set to 57600.

To Save Memory:

1 Select E4, Save Memory To Disk.

2. The screen on your computer will change and ask for you to enter in a file name. Type in a name for the file you are saving.  Then select Save.

3. The screen will change and display, Memory Transfer in Progress, Please Wait.

4. When the memory transfer is completed the screen will display, Memory Transfer Completed Successfully.

5. Select OK.

To Load Memory:

1. Select F4, Load Memory From Disk.

2. The screen on your computer will change and ask for you to select the file to Restore. Select the file you you want to transfer into the AlphaTalker.  Then select Restore.

3. The screen will change and display, Memory Transfer in Progress, Please Wait.

4. When the memory transfer is completed the screen will display, Memory Transfer Completed Successfully. Select OK.
