Importing an Icon or Scene

Note: You must have icons/scenes stored on your USB Flash Drive or SD card in order to import them to your device. Your device will import most of the graphics files that Windows will support.

1.  Plug your USB drive or SD card into your device.

Note: When you plug in the USB drive or SD card, you will probably see a Windows Message Box for "Removable Disk," asking you what you want to do.  Unless you are familiar with this message box and know what you want, we recommend you do nothing and just close the box or select Cancel.

2.  Go to the Toolbox and open the TRANSFER MEMORY MENU.

3.   Select Import Icons or Import Scenes.

Important Note:  If the flash drive is not recognized, make sure you have any files on the flash drive backed up on the computer then check to see if the flash drive is formatted in a FAT 32 format.  This can be done on a computer or on the Windows side by opening My Computer and right clicking the removable drive. Now click FORMAT which will open a window where you can select FAT 32 under the FILE SYSTEM.  Select START which will begin the format process.  When finished try the transfer again.   If still no luck, try another flash drive.

4.   You see a list of all the icons or scenes stored on your USB drive or SD card. Select the one(s) that you want to import, or use Select All.  Select OK.

5.   You see the imported icon and several options which are described below.

6.   Your device automatically places the graphic in an IMPORTS category folder. If you also saved it as a Scene, a copy will be saved to the Scenes pages on your device.

7.   You see the TRANSFER MEMORY MENU. Select OK to exit.

From now on, when you are in a storing menu and select the Change Icon option you will see an IMPORTS folder on the Icon Categories pages. You will find any pictures you have imported in this folder.

If you select the Change Scene option in a storing menu, you will go to the Scene Pages where you can select your scene.

Import as Scene

If you want to use your picture for a Scene Page, select Import as Scene.

Import as Icon

If you want your picture to fit a MAP key, select Import as Icon.

NOTE: When you select either one of these options, your device will save your graphic as both an icon and a scene.

Rotate Left:  Rotate your picture to the left.

Rotate Right:  You can rotate the picture to the right.

Rename Picture:  You can give the picture a new name.

Maintain Aspect Ratio:  Aspect Ratio refers to the ratio between the width and height of the picture. YES maintains the ratio you currently see; NO will stretch out the picture. Generally, you will want this option to say YES
