Using ECO with Power Point.

Using Power Point in ECO

     A.   Install Power Point or Power Point Viewer in ECO – the viewer is a read only version of Power Point.  You can get it as a free download from Microsoft.

  1.  Create a Power Point slide show in your ECO, or import one you already have via your USB drive or the CD/DVD drive.
  2.  Create a Power Point commands page for your ECO

                     1.  Tools

                     2.  Create Page

                     3.  Name the page and select OK

                     4.  Set the Key-Mode Static Rows to 0

                     5.  Set the Key-Mode Scroll rows to 1

                     6.  Program a key to start the power point show

                           a.  Spell text for message

                           b.  Insert Tool

                           c.  Run Program

                           d.  Select Advanced at the bottom of the screen

                           e.  Select Show All files – YES and OK

                           f.  Navigate to where your power point slide show is stored and select it.

                           g.  Finish the key with an icon and a label.

                7.  Choose the next key to define.

                8.  Store computer access commands for enter, escape, up, and down

                      a.  Enter =  Spell Text for Message, Insert Tool, Output On, Output Macro, Enter

                      b. Escape = Spell Text for Message, Insert Tool, Output On, Output Macro,  Escape

                      c.  Up = Spell Text for Message, Insert Tool, Output On, Output Macro, Up

                      d.  Down = Spell Text for Message, Insert Tool, Output On, Output Macro, Down

               9.   Store a Scroll Key and copy it to the row below

                         a.  Spell Text for Message, Insert Tool, Scroll keys

                         b.  Use the Icon named PROGRAM, and then change the label

                         c.  Copy this assignment to the key right below it.

            10. Store a Go to Core key

                        a.  Spell Text for Message, Insert Tool, Go to Minspeak (Go to Core)

                        b.  Insert Tool, Key-Mode-Off

            11. Link the Power Point page to a location you choose in your user area.

                        a.  Spell Text for Message

                        b.  Insert Tool, Set Page, and select your power point page

                        c.  Insert Tool, Key-Mode On

                        d.  Finish with an icon and a label.

 

Now you have a Power Point commands page in your ECO.  There are many other computer access commands for Power Point that you could store on the page.  You can also use blank keys to store the Run Program tool with links to other Power Point slide shows.

NOTE:  If you are using older ECO software, you may find that you do not have Output Tools listed in your Tools list.  These tools were later renamed Output from their previous name of Serial.  You will want to substitute the Output Tools for Serial Tools.
