How do I Switch User Areas and Load a New Overlay in Springboard Lite?

Your device has six different User Areas that contain pre-stored vocabulary. If more than one person is using the device, each person can have his or her own area. A single user can load different overlays into different Areas and use them in specific situations or during the transition between overlay sizes.

Switching User areas will not erase any custom vocabulary in your current user area, although if you select the Overlay Menu and load a new overlay, this WILL erase any customization you have in the current user area only.

You select a User Area by opening the CHOOSE OVERLAY MENU User area menu in toolbox. in the Toolbox.

The text display area at the top of the screen tells you which Area and overlay you are currently using.

Select the Switch User Area option.

Your screen may look slightly different.

Each overlay is stored in a different User Area. Select the pre-stored overlay you want to use.

Important Note! If you change from the overlay you have been using and load a new overlay into the same User Area, any custom vocabulary that you have stored on your current overlay will be lost when the new overlay is installed. A default copy of the overlay selected will be loaded.

If you want to save the vocabulary, perform a memory transfer before you change to a different overlay. (See the Transfer Memory Menu chapter for information about making memory transfers.)

The Overlay Menu option allows you to load one of many different overlays into an Area. If you select the Overlay Menu option, you can choose to load a blank overlay into an Area and create your own vocabulary.

Select More Items to see even more options of overlays to load.

Use the Rename User Area if you want to name your Area.  This is a very good idea especially if you are using one device with multiple users.

You can Copy a User Area and place it in another Area. Both Areas would have the same overlay but each Area could have its own access method. One Area might be set up for school situations and another for when the user is at home.
