ECO2 Software Update Using a USB Flash Drive
Read the instructions before beginning the update.
You may want to print this page and then proceed to the update.
To download and install this update you will need:
Your ECO2 and the battery charger for the device. Your ECO2 should currently be using a lower version of system software than the version you want to download.
On Your Computer
1. Download the ECO2 software update file from the PRC website to your computer desktop.
2. Plug the USB flash drive into the USB port on your computer.
3. Copy the update file to your USB flash drive.
4. Remove the USB flash drive from your computer port and keep it nearby.
On Your ECO2
1. If you have made any changes to your device vocabulary, save the vocabulary to your USB flash drive before starting the update.
NOTE: A Reset to Factory Defaults will automatically be done during the update process - erasing your vocabulary. If you have made changes to your device vocabulary that you want to keep, use the TRANSFER MEMORY MENU in the ECO2 Toolbox to save the vocabulary to your USB flash drive before you start the update. 2. Plug in the ECO2 battery charger.
3. Turn On the ECO2.
4. Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on the right side of the ECO2
5. Go to the Toolbox and open the MAINTENANCE MENU.
6. Select the Update Software option. Answer YES. (If have not plugged in the ECO2 battery charger, do it now.)
7. If you saved vocabulary in Step 1, load it back into the ECO2 now using the Transfer Memory Menu
8. Remove the USB drive from your ECO2 and put it in a safe place. You may also unplug the battery charger if you wish.
