How do I Hide and Show Keys in Core on Springboard Lite?

If you are just learning about your vocabulary, you might want to use only a few keys on your overlay. You can hide all the keys that you don't need. When you are ready to learn about more keys, you can turn the hidden keys back on ("show" them) and add them to your overlay. When you hide a key, you are telling it to quit working. You can't even see it on the overlay anymore. If you activate the space where the key used to be, nothing will happen.

To Hide a Core Vocabulary Key:

1 Go to the Toolbox overlay and activate ASSIGN CORE KEYS Assign Core Key tool in toolbox.

Core vocabulary to modify.

2. The Toolbox returns you to your overlay. Activate any key on your core overlay.

3. You see the ASSIGN CORE KEYS menu.

Hide Show Key in programming menu.

4. Select the Hide/Show Keys option.

5. You see your overlay. Now select the key or keys you want to hide. When you select a key it will turn gray.  If you want to HIDE or SHOW ALL the keys, select the User Key 2 User Define Key 2 on the top of the case.

6. If you change your mind after you have selected a key, just select it again. It will return to its active state.

7. When you are finished, activate the Text Bar on the top of the screen to exit. Activate the OK key to exit the ASSIGN CORE KEYS menu.

8. Go to your communication overlay. Notice that the keys you have hidden are no longer visible on the overlay.

Note:  To SHOW keys again, follow these steps again but simply select the gray keys that you would like to show again.
