Changing a Mid-Sequence Icon in the ECO.

This feature allows you to label keys and change icons within a sequence. Although it is called Mid-Sequence Category, you can use it in sequences of any length.

Let’s look at another specific example using the Unity 144 available in an ECO device.

All FOOD vocabulary starts with the This shows the apple icon as an example. and a second Core icon represents a sub-category. So, the following examples show five categories of FOOD.

Using Mid-Sequence Category, it is possible to add a label to the second icon in the sequence.

You can also add a category label to the first icon of a sequence.

Finally, the Mid-Sequence Category feature lets you change the icon.

Tools for Mid-Sequence Category functions are located in the Feedback menu. Feedback Menu Key in toolbox.

Here you can adjust two settings that will effect the icon and labels in mid-sequence.  Mid sequence tools in Feedback Menu.

The default setting for Mid-Sequence Categories is set to ON.

The default setting for First Categories is OFF.  When turned ON, you will have labels on your first icons on your core page.

Note:  When Mid-Sequence Categories is turned OFF, you will not have the First Categories as an option.

To change the icon or label of a Mid-Sequence Category:

1.  In core, activate the first and/or second icon until you see the icon you wish to change. We selected the APPLE Icon

2. Select the Set-Up key Set up key., then select the icon you wish to change - in this case  FLOWERS.

3. You see the prompt Modify key as needed, then select OK, and the actual key.

4. Select Change Label, delete the current label then type the name for the new label.  Our example is FRUIT. If you would like to change the icon, select Change Icon, select a new icon. 

5. Select the OK button at the bottom of the page and the operation is complete.
