How do I Update my OS Software on the SpringBoard Lite?
Updating your OS Software is easily done with the Secure Digital card that you received. This update will not effect your custom vocabulary, although it is always a good idea to periodically make a vocabulary backup anyway.
1. Plug in your SpringBoard Lite (SBL) battery charger into the charging port on the left side of your device. Select your Tools key on the top of your case, then go to the Maintenance Menu and write down the date of your current OS Version located in the System Information box.
2. Insert your Secure Digital Card into the SD Slot on the side of your SBL. This slot is spring loaded, so you will feel and hear it click into place.
3. Press the reset button on the back of your SBL. Your SBL screen will now be black with a status bar indicating that the new software is now being loaded. DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR CHARGER DURING THIS UPDATE. When the device shows Reset System on the screen, your software update has been loaded.
4. Remove the Secure Digital Card by slightly pressing inward to release the card then remove the SD card.
5. Press the reset button on the back of your SBL once again. The device will reset.
6. Now go to your Toolbox to the Maintenance Menu to compare the OS Version to the one you wrote down previously. If the OS Update installed properly, you will see OS Version = 1.47 July 14, 2009. Charger may now be unplugged.
