Help! My Core Keys are Missing. How do I get them Back?

If you are in your core vocabulary and are now missing some or all of your keys, there may be a couple of setting that have been changed within your toolbox.

  1. First let’s go into your Toolbox to the Assign Core MenuAssign Core Key located in the Toolbox.
  2. Now choose any key in your core vocabulary

This shows the Assign Core Keys menu.

    3.  From your programming menu, select the SHOW ALL key.

This shows the shown keys and how to exit this mode.

   4.  Your vocabulary keys should all be present now with white backgrounds on the keys.  If you see any keys that are gray simply press those keys so they turn white.  Select the Text Bar at the top of the screen when all keys are active.

   5.  Select the OK button to exit the Assign Core Keys menu, and then choose Go To Core from the toolbox.

Are all your keys available now?  If yes, Great!

If no, let’s try something else.

This shows the drop down menu on the ECO.

  1. Select the Drop Down Menu key and choose the Vocabulary Masking bar.

Enable Masking option on Vocabulary Masking menu.

    B.  The Vocabulary Masking Menu will appear.  Looking at the lower left corner of this menu you will seen the function called Enable Masking.  Does a check mark appear in this box?  If yes, press or click the box to remove the check mark.

This shows the Vocabulary Masking option disabled.

    C.  Select  Save Mask Info key to exit this menu.  Go To Core to see if your keys have now reappeared.

Are all your keys available now?  If yes, Great!

If no, then you may need to reload a back-up copy of your custom vocabulary that you previously saved to your flash drive.  If you do not have a copy of your vocabulary, then you may need to load a default copy of your vocabulary such as Unity, Word Core, or Word Power using the User Area Menu.
