How do I Import a Visual Scene into the Vantage Lite?

Visual Scenes =  A visual scene is a special Page you make that has a graphic on it that you have placed over keys you have selected.

PROGRAMMERS TIP: This option is best used by the therapy team and programmers. You must be using the Touch access method.

You create and work with visual scenes much the same way as you do with any other page.

 Importing a Visual Scene Page

You must have a graphic on your USB or hard drive to use for a visual scene.

1.   If you are using a USB flash drive, plug it into one of the USB ports on your device.

2.   Go to the Toolbox on your device.

3.   Open the TRANSFER MEMORY MENU.This is a picture of the Transfer Memory Key in the toolbox.

4. Select Import Scenes.  import scene key

5.   Select the drive your pictures are stored at.  Select the graphic you want to import, then select OK.  When you select graphics to import, you will see a green check mark.

picture to import.

Important Note:  If a flash drive is not being recognized by the device, you may need to reset the device by holding down the I/O button for 15 seconds then try the transfer again.  If the flash drive is still not recognized, make sure you have any files on the flash drive backed up on the computer then check to see if the flash drive is formatted in a FAT 32 format.  This can be done on a computer by opening My Computer and right clicking the removable drive. Now click FORMAT which will open a window where you can select FAT 32 under the FILE SYSTEM.  Select START which will begin the format process.  When finished, eject the flash drive and try the transfer again.   If still no luck, try another flash drive.

Import as Icon

Right now the picture is ready to be added.  If you would rather have it imported for use on a single icon, select this option.

NOTE:  If you are importing an Icon, this option will ask if you want it to be a Scene.

Rotate Left  -  Rotate Right

Use to rotate the picture.

Rename Scene

You can give the picture a new name.  The current name of the scene is shown in the upper left of your screen.

Maintain Aspect Ratio

Aspect Ratio refers to the ratio between the width and height of the picture. YES maintains the ratio you currently see;  NO will stretch out the picture. We suggest you leave this set to YES.

When you have completed any changes, select OK.

6.   Select OK to exit the TRANSFER MEMORY MENU.

Now when you Modify a Page or Create a Page, your imported scene will be available under the CHANGE VISUAL SCENE in your programming screen.

NOTE:  Only the Visual Scenes that you have imported can be deleted.  Factory loaded scenes cannot be removed.

ANOTHER NOTE:  If you receive an error in reference to the size of the image you are importing when trying to import your picture, you will need to resize the photo to 1024 X 768 pixels and try importing again.  Resizing can be done through a photo editing software on a PC compatible computer.
