How can I Play Audio Files on my Vantage Lite?

Important Note:  The maximum size for USB Flash Drives is 8GB (may need to be formatted as a FAT 32) and the maximum size for Secure Digital Cards is 2GB for Memory Transfers or playing sound files in PRC Devices. If trying to use a removeable disk larger than recommended, the device may not recognize the disk.

Once you have selected some audio files, (MP3, WAV, or WMA), you can play them on your Vantage Lite.

1.  Insert your USB Flash Drive or an SD Card into your computer. Copy and paste your song files onto the drive/card.

2.  Remove the drive/card and insert it into your Vantage Lite.

The most effective way to do this is to use an SD Card to store ALL your sound files. You can then insert the card into your device and leave it there. this gives you permanent access to all your songs. You can also use the USB Flash Drive for permanent access, but when it is inserted into your device, the USB flash drive sticks out at the side and could damage the USB port if bumped.

3.  Once your drive/card is inserted into your Vantage, go to the Toolbox and select the MP3 MENU key.

4.  Select the PLAY option to begin playing your songs.

This is a picture of the MP3 Player menu.

The MP3 Player will begin playing the first song listed on your SD card or USB flash drive, and will continue to play until every song on the drive/card has been played.

As the songs are played the total time of the current song in minutes and the name of song as it appears on the drive/card are shown in the upper left corner of the screen.

NOTE:  If you notice that some of the songs aren't played,  it could be that they are not the proper format (MP3, WAV, or WMA).  Another possibility is that songs are copy protected, in which case they will not play.
