Troubleshooting your Bluetooth Technology.
If you Lose a Connection
Losing a connection between the switch and an AAC device or an adapter usually means you have moved the switch out of the range of the device it is paired with.
When the BTS is paired with an AAC device
· The green LED on the BTS will stay lit.
If the connection is lost
· The green LED will go out
· Because it is the master device, the AAC device will begin to search for the BTS
· Move the switch back into range and the green LED will come on again and stay lit.
When the BTS is paired with a computer through the PRC Bluetooth Adapter
· The blue LED on the adapter and the green LED on the BTS will stay lit.
If the BTS and Bluetooth Adapter connection is lost
· The blue LED on the Adapter goes out.
· Because in this case, the BTS is the master device, the green LED on the BTS will begin to blink, indicating that it is trying to reconnect with the Adapter.
· The BTS will try to reconnect for several minutes. If it does not come back into the range of the Adapter in that time, it will give up and the green LED will go out.
· Press any user switch to re-try connecting.
· Both the green and the blue LEDs will stay steadily lit when the connection is made.
If you turn the BTS OFF while it is connected
· Any connection will be lost.
· Turn the BTS back ON.
· If your switch mode settings remain the same as they were when you lost your connection, the BTS will automatically re-connect to either the AAC device or the Bluetooth Adapter, whichever it was last paired with.
Un-Pairing
With your AAC Device:
If you select "Unpair" from the Bluetooth menu in the ACCESS METHOD MENU in the SpringBoard Lite or the OUTPUT menu in the ECO-14, the BTS will not remember that it was last paired with your AAC device.
You will have to Pair the switch and AAC device the next time you want to use them together.
With the Bluetooth Adapter:
If you want to change Switch Modes on the BTS, you can press the PAIR button on the BTS. This will unpair you from the adapter but there is no particular reason to do this. Instead, simply turn the BTS OFF, change to the Mode setting you want and pair with the new device.
