How do I Create a New Activity in the SpringBoard Lite?
1. Go to the Toolbox and activate the CREATE ACTIVITY key.
2. Spell the name of your new activity. For example you might spell, "Cookies." 3. Activate OK when you have finished spelling. 4. Choose an icon for the new activity from one of the Icon Categories. Try the AROUND THE HOME category and then the KITCHEN sub-category. Then select an icon. TIP: You can use the Spell Icon To Find key to spell the first few letters of an icon name. Activate OK. The SpringBoard will bring up all the icons that might have the name you are looking for. Select the icon you want and activate OK. Note: The icon you just created will not appear on the Modify Item Within Activity screen as you continue to create the items within the activity. It will appear in the Activity Row on your display when you have finished creating the activity and exited the menu. 5. Now you see the screen that allows you to create the keys in your activity. The first key in the activity is highlighted. 6. Spell any text to go with the key, for example, "one cup flour" (add a space after the last word). Select OK when you have finished. 7. If you selected Record, record your message now.
8. Select Change Icon to choose an icon for the key. Select an icon that will remind you of flour. NOTE: When you choose an icon, SpringBoard automatically inserts the default icon name as text. If this is what you want the SpringBoard to speak, it will save you some typing. If not, see Step 9. 9. You can select Change Label to change the label on the key if you want. A label can contain up to 9 letters with no spaces. If you want a blank label, type a space instead of a word. Select OK when you are done. You can 10. Select Change Key Color if you want to change the background color of the key. Select OK when you have finished. TIP: If you make a mistake when you are creating the contents of a key, you can select Clear Key Contents and start over. 11. Activate the next key that you want to define and repeat these steps. Add words like spoon, spatula, stir, oven, etc. 12. When you have completed your activity, select OK to exit the menu. Select Go to Minspeak. Find the Cookies activity and select it to test your new activity. |
