Information about Recorded and Synthesized Speech in the ECO.
Your device allows you to store messages in two different kinds of speech.
Synthesized speech (DECtalk© , RealSpeak™, or AT&T Natural Voices) is speech that your device produces from words that are typed into it. Each time you store a message you can select which kind of speech you want to use.
*Select a synthesized voice from the SPEECH MENU in the Toolbox.
You can store approximately 1.5 megabytes worth of synthesized messages.
Recorded (digitized) speech is speech that someone records into your device, just like recording something into a tape recorder.
You can store approximately 45 minutes' worth of recorded (digitized) messages.
Note: When you import icons you use up digitized speech memory.
