Why does My Voice Sound Different or Why do I Have to Press my Keys Twice?
Video (Click play button to start.)
Auditory prompts are verbal output messages that you assign to individual keys, to a row or column of keys, or to a quadrant of keys, most often when using 1 switch or 2 switch scanning. Your device will speak the prompts, usually in a different voice, when the Auditory Prompts option is turned ON in the AUDITORY PROMPTS MENU.
If Auditory Prompts are accidentally turned on in a Eco and you are in Keyboard mode (selected in the SELECTION TECHNIQUE MENU), you will hear an auditory prompt for every key you select from the keyboard. This is similar to hearing just the first syllable of a word in a voice that is different from your main voice. This forces you to select every key twice: the first key press gives you the auditory prompt; the second key press will select your message.
To Turn Auditory Prompts Off:
1. Select the TOOLS key on the top of the device.
2. Choose the Auditory Prompt menu key.

3. Verify that the Auditory Prompts are OFF. If this is ON select the OFF key to the left.

4. Select OK to exit.
