How Do I Speak a Notebook in the ECO?

There may be times when you will want to speak a Notebook.  There are three insertable Tools that allow you to speak your Notebook.

The SPEAK NOTEBOOK Tool:

This is the Speak Notebook tool under the Insert Tool command.

Use the SPEAK NOTEBOOK tool when you want to speak a specific Notebook.  When you insert and store this tool on your overlay, you must also store with it the name of the Notebook you want to speak.

The SPEAK ALL Tool:

This is the Speak All tool under the Insert Tool command.

Store and use SPEAK ALL when you want to speak any open Notebook.  For example, open a Notebook and then activate the key or icon sequence where you stored SPEAK ALL.  This will speak the entire notebook at once.

The SPEAK NEXT SENTENCE Tool:

This is the Speak Next Sentence tool under the Insert Tool command.

Store and use SPEAK NEXT SENTENCE when you want to speak a Notebook one sentence at a time.  This helps to control the speed at which the Notebook is spoken and allows you to stop between sentences to answer questions if needed.  SPEAK NEXT SENTENCE must be selected everytime you want to continue speaking the Notebook.

You can also store the entire NOTEBOOK MENU under an icon sequence on your overlay if you wish.

Notebook Activity

You will also find a pre-programmed Notebook Activity in the Activity Row.  This Activity has various important Notebook tools created for you and ready for use, such as Speak All and Speak Next Sentence. Your Notebook Activity may vary from the one shown below, depending on the Overlay you are using. For example,  Unity 60 Sequence will be much different from Unity 144 due to the number of keys in the activity row.
