Using the File Organizer in your Vantage/Vanguard.

The FILE ORGANIZER menu allows you to copy and move files from one memory device to another or move files onto one memory device into folders on the same device. You can also copy and delete files. Perhaps you use a Secure Digital card as a permanent storage area in your device. You rarely remove the card from your communication aid. However, your USB drive frequently travels between your device and your computer because you use it to download files from your computer and then put them in your communication aid. You would like to be able to easily transfer files from your USB to your SD card so that you don't have to have the USB drive plugged into your communication aid in order to listen to songs or access other files. The FILE ORGANIZER MENU allows you to do this.

Important Note:  The maximum size for USB Flash Drives is 8GB (may need to be formatted as a FAT 32) and the maximum size for Secure Digital Cards is 2GB.  If trying to use a removeable disk larger than recommended, the device may not recognize the disk.

To Move Files from One Memory Device to Another:

1. Make sure your SD card and USB drive are plugged into your communication aid.

2. Go to the Toolbox and open the FILE ORGANIZER menu.

6. When you have finished selecting files, select OK

7.  Select the destination for the files (i.e., the other storage device). If you have a folder on the destination memory device that you want to store the files to, select it, then select OK. Otherwise, just select OK.

The files are transferred or deleted.  Depending on the amount of files, this could take a few minutes.

If you choose to Move Files, the files will no longer be on the original memory device.

If you Copy Files, the files will be available on both memory devices.

If you Delete Files, they are erased from the memory device you select.
