How Can I Tell if My SpringBoard Has Infrared?
Not all SpringBoards have Infrared capability. Infrared is an option you order when you purchase the SpringBoard.
To tell if your SpringBoard has infrared, go to the the Toolbox and select Maintenance Menu.
On the right side of your display, under System Information, you should see the abbreviation IR listed after the Software Version. This means you have Infrared capability. If you do not see the IR, your SpringBoard is not equipped with Infrared.
With its built-in infrared (IR), the SpringBoard can learn infrared signals for just about any device you own that has a remote control. This includes a TV, CD player, VCR, toys, etc. You teach the remote control signals to the SpringBoard and then store the commands for the signals on your overlay.
