Where is my Battery Located and How Do I Install a New Battery?
IMPORTANT! UNPLUG YOUR BATTERY CHARGER BEFORE REMOVING OR DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY.
Opening the battery door: Gently turn the device face down. Using a pen tip or a small flathead screwdriver, insert the pen tip or the head of the screwdriver into the battery door slot and push down. This will push down on the tab inside the slot, popping the door off the side of the device.
Unplugging the battery pack:
VERY IMPORTANT! Take note which side the red wire is closest to--it will either be closest to the charging jack or closest to the battery pack. You will need to re-connect it in the same way.
Pinch these two wires just above the white connector and gently rock the connector back and forth while lifting to unplug the connector.
NOTE: The picture above is of a Springboard 2 or SpringBoard Plus unit. The red wire will be on the opposite side if you have the original Springboard.
Installing the new battery pack: Remove the old battery and slide the new battery in. Plug the connector in by very carefully inserting it in the same direction the old connector was removed.
WARNING! If the connector is installed backward, it will cause damage to the device and the Springboard will have to be returned to PRC to be serviced.
