Transferring Memory from an Older SpringBoard to Another.

By plugging the MTI Serial VG to IBM/PC cable into the serial port on the side of each SpringBoard you can transfer vocabulary from one SpringBoard to another. If you do not have the cable, you can order it from PRC (part # 11819, Null Modem Cable).

To Transfer Memory from One SpringBoard to Another:

1. Plug the transfer memory cable into the Serial Port on the side of each SpringBoard. (The ends of the cable are the same so it doesn't matter which end goes into the connector.)

2. Oopen the Toolbox on each Springboard.

3. Select the TRANSFER MEMORY MENU key on each SpringBoard.  Make sure the baud rate is the same for both devices.

4. On the SpringBoard that contains the vocabulary you want to transfer, activate Save to Disk to begin the saving procedure.

5. Your SpringBoard will display "Looking for host computer ..."

6. On the other SpringBoard that is going to receive the vocabulary, activate Load Memory from Disk to start the loading procedure.

7. The transfer takes place automatically.

8.  When the transfer is complete, select OK to exit.

Note:  The software versions of both SpringBoards must match-- OR --the Springboard you are transferring your vocabulary to must have a software version greater than the software version in the SpringBoard you are transferring from, or else the memory transfer will not take place.
