How do I Transfer Memory from One Liberator to Another?
WARNING! Follow these instructions carefully. A mistake can result in memory loss.
IMPORTANT! If you are using Word Prediction: the MTI will not transfer the Word Prediction Dictionary from the Memory Transfer Menu.
You must transfer it separately from the Word Prediction Menu.
Before you begin, plug in the battery charger!
1. Connect the two Liberators: Plug the MTI-Mac (Macintosh or MTI-6) cable in to the RS-232 ports on the side panel of each Liberator. (If you do not have the MTI-Mac cable, you can order it from PRC.)
2. Turn each Liberator On, and open the Toolbox on each Liberator.
3. Activate the Transfer Memory Menu on each Liberator.
4. Baud Rates: Go to screen 2 of the Memory Transfer Menu.
5. Set the Baud Rate (option 2) to 38400 on each Liberator. (If they are different set them both to 38400.)
6. On the Liberator that you want to load memory into: select option #1, Remote Transfer Mode.
7. On the Liberator that contains the memory you want to load: Go to the previous screen and select option #1, Save Entire Device Contents.
8. Both Liberatos will display, "Memory Transfer in Progress".
9. When the transfer is complete, turn off both Liberators and disconnect the cable.
