How do I Add a Notebook Link Under an Icon Sequence on my Liberator?
Setting up a Notebook: a step-by-step approach with Unity/128
Setting up new notebook is a two-part operation.
Part One:
1. Open the Toolbox and select NOTEBOOK MENU.
2. Choose option 2, OPEN DIFFERENT NOTEBOOK.
3. Close the Toolbox and select the symbol sequence for the notebook you want to make.
( We suggest using NOTEBOOK + ICON.) Special Note: If you have assigned a Word Prediction key to the NOTEBOOK icon in Minspeak Mode, then you cannot use it. However, you can use any other icon sequence.
This sequence is the STORAGE LOCATION FOR THE NOTEBOOK.
4. The device prompts with "There is no notebook …" Answer "Y" for "yes."
5. You should now be in the new notebook. Hit OPEN/CLOSE NOTEBOOK on the overlay to close it.
Part Two:
1. Clear the display
2. Hit STORE twice.
3. Select (2), EDIT a sequence.
4. Select NOTEBOOK + BOOK,then press ENTER.
5. You will see the following on the screen:
<NOTEBOOK MENU>2y<ICON(NOTEBOOK)><ICON(BOOK)><ENTER>
<EDIT MODE><EDIT MODE><UP><EDIT MODE>.
6. Use the arrow keys to position the cursor inbetween <ICON(BOOK)> and <ENTER>, then hit DEL CHAR twice.
7. You should now see the following:
<NOTEBOOK MENU>2y<ENTER><EDIT MODE><EDIT MODE><UP><EDIT MODE>.
8. Open the Toolbox and select FUNCTION INSERT, then the letter I.
9. Choose option (1) ICON from the menu.
10. Then choose (1) again and close the Toolbox.
11. Press the icons you selected in Part 1, then select ENTER.
12. Select STORE and look at the display. Choose option (2) NEW ICONS
13. Press again the icon sequence chosen in Part 1, followed by ENTER.
You could choose any icon sequence here.
This sequence tells the Liberator WHICH NOTEBOOK STORAGE LOCATION to open.
From now on, when you hit the Icon sequence, the new notebook will be opened.
