How do I Change my Daessy Bar from a Left Side Mount to a Right Side Mount?
When you receive the Daessy Folding Mount package, the folding bar is set up as a standard right side mount.
The letters R and L are stamped into the silver collared ring below where the horizontal bar is bolted. The default assembly has the tube hole located over the R for right-hand.
If this bar has been adjusted or used with someone else and is now in the left side mounting position, please use the following instructions for changing from a left to a right side mount.
The following steps change the Folding Bar to right-side mounting:
1. Remove the tube mount by removing the two tube mount bolts
2. Rotate the tube mount 180º to position the tube hole over the R.
3. Reattach the tube mount in the new position (the horizontal tube will point away from the bent vertical bar.
4. Fold the horizontal bar down toward the floor in the folded position. You may have to adjust the bent vertical bar to do this, depending on its current position.
5. Slide the vertical bar with the collar into the already installed frame clamp on the wheelchair.
6. Make the necessary adjustments until the elbow joint on the bar is in the following position:
7. The straight (horizonal) bar should now swing out and away from the user so it is pointing at the ceiling,
8. Now fold the bar in front of the user into the locked position.
Note: When the bar is across the user, the bar should not have to be supported in any way. The bar should lock and only have an up movement when rotated.
