Importing Icons into a SpringBoard with 2.00 software using a USB Flash Drive.
- IMPORTING ICONS
You CAN import icons into a Springboard from the USB thumb drive, but you must first convert it to a .mti file. To do this:
Note: Be sure your picture is a 256 color bitmap
1. Open your MTI program
2. Select Import icon

3. Now you will see a box to choose the icon (s) you want to import

4. Select the icon (if you hold CTRL while selecting, you can choose more than one picture).
Remember: The ICON NAME should be unique and no more than 8 characters long as there are already many icons in the device and you can’t have duplicate names.
You will then see this preview.

5. After you select OK, you will see a the PRC mti icon with the title ICONS TO IMPORT.MTI.

Mine appeared on my desktop because that was where I was working from. If the pictures you were importing were in a folder, the Icons to Import.mti icon may appear there.
6. Copy this file on to your thumb drive
7. Plug the drive into the USB port of your Springboard
8. Select TRANSFER MEMORY MENU in the toolbox of your Springboard.
Be sure the MTI METHOD is set for USB disk
9. Select IMPORT ICONS
A list of .mti files will appear on your display
10. Select the file.
Remember: all pictures you import will go into an IMPORTS file in your Springboard.
To see them, you must be MODIFYING an activity, page or core. When you select CHANGE ICON, the categories of icons will appear and you will find the IMPORTS category as the last category.
Deleting Imported Icons: To delete Imported Icons in your SpringBoard, you must go to one of your editing menus such as Modify Page, select any page, choose any key, then go to the Change Icon or Modify Icon key in the lower left corner. Select More Item to find the IMPORTS category. Select IMPORTS to view all your imported icons. In the lower left corner, select the key labeled Delete Icon then press the icon you wish to delete.
Note: You cannot Delete Icons from a specific category, only from within the IMPORTS category.
Important Note: If a flash drive is not being recognized by the device, you may need to reset the device by holding down the I/O button for 15 seconds then try the transfer again. If the flash drive is still not recognized, make sure you have any files on the flash drive backed up on the computer then check to see if the flash drive is formatted in a FAT 32 format. This can be done on a computer by opening My Computer and right clicking the removable drive. Now click FORMAT which will open a window where you can select FAT 32 under the FILE SYSTEM. Select START which will begin the format process. When finished, eject the flash drive and try the transfer again. If still no luck, try another flash drive.
