Enabling the Phone Card on my Vantage/Vanguard.

The first thing you must do after you install the Aircard, antenna, cable (if you ordered the cable) and SIM card from your regular cell phone (if you plan to make and receive calls), is to enable the Aircard.

1. Go to the Toolbox and open the MAINTENANCE MENU.

2. Select Hardware Diagnostics.

Select Phone Configuration.

Turn the Detect AirCard option to ON.

Select OK to exit the menu. Select OK to exit the MAINTENANCE MENU.

In the Status Display Area on your device you should see two new phone icons:

If the AirCard is initialized correctly, the icons will be red. If it is not initialized, they will be gray.

The NO PHONE icon signifies either that there is no signal or no service available. If service or a signal is available you will see signal strength bars and perhaps a small capital "R" to signify "Roaming"
