Troubleshooting: AAC Keys and Adjusting Settings

 Problem:  Solution:
 The computer skips some characters when you send a large amount of text.

 Turn on Character Pacing in the Output Menu

Choose a lower Baud Rate.

 Incorrect characters appear on your computer screen.

 Make sure the Baud Rate setting on your device matches the AAC Keys setting.

Choose a lower Baud Rate.

 The computer does not display any characters you send when you are on-line or your modem is in use.

If your modem is on an odd COM port, e.g. COM1, COM3, etc., use an even COM port for emulation. If your modem is on an even COM port, e.g. COM2, COM4, etc., use an odd COM port for emulation.

(Technical answer: Windows dial-up networking does not like to share COM port interrupts.)

 The computer does not display any of the characters you send until they scroll off of the display on your device or until you activate Enter or Return. In the Output Menu, set  Output Mode to Immediate instead of Delayed

 Make sure that the Output option is turned ON in the Output Menu. Make sure your device is connected to the COM port that AAC Keys is configured to use.

 AAC Keys works but when I programmed the "combine" tool, it doesn't work.If you are running an old version of AAC Keys, the "combine" tool is one tool that may not work with AAC Keys.  Update your version of AAC Keys to correct this problem.
 AAC Keys works but not until I log on to the system using my password.AAC Keys is not started until after you are logged onto your system. You either have to have someone log you onto the system or re-install your Windows operating system. During the installation procedure Windows Setup will give you the option for this box. (See your computer dealer with help for re-installing your Windows operating system)
