Troubleshooting: Why is My IRR Not Responding With My Device?
There could be a number of reasons why your IRR is not responding. Here is a check list for you to go through:
1. Are all 4 buttons in the OUT position? If not, unplug the charger (BCPS-1) from the back of the IRR, adjust the buttons on the IRR, then plug the charger back in. Verify that you have a light on in the lower right of the IRR window.
If there is no response:
2. If the RX/TX lights blink when you send a command or message but the text does not come across, verify that AAC Keys are turned ON in your computer (if you are using AAC Keys). Look at the toolbar in the lower right corner of your computer monitor. You should see the AAC Keys icon.

If there is no response:
3. Chec the settings in the OUTPUT MENU in your communication aid's Toolbox. The settings should be as follows:
Output Method = Infrared
Output = ON
Output Mode = Immediate
Auto Line Feed and Character Pacing both = OFF
Baud Rate = 1200
Make any corrections and try again.

If there is no response:
4. Verify that you are using the correct cable and that all connections are still plugged in tightly. If you are connected directly to the serial port of the computer or using a USB-to-Serial Adapter, you should be using the cable labeled Null Modem.
If there is no response:
5. Reboot your computer and see if this corrects the problem.
