Updating Software via USB Software Update in Accent
Read These Instructions
Before you begin your update, read these instructions. You may want to print them out and then proceed with the update.
You Will Need:
Your communication device, the battery charger that came with it, and a USB flash drive.
Check Your Current System Software
The system software you are currently using on your device should be a lower version than the version you want to install. To check your current software version go to the Toolbox. Open the MAINTENANCE MENU. In the System Information box, look at the number under “Current Software Version.”
NOTE: To open the Toolbox: Press the TOOLS key 
on the top front of your device case. Select the TOOLBOX key 
from the small menu that appears.
On Your Computer
Download the Update File
1. Go to www.prentrom.com
2. Click on Downloads.
3. Click on the name of your communication device.
4. Click on Software Updates.
5. Copy the software update file to your USB drive.
6. Remove the USB drive from your computer.
On Your Communication Aid
NOTE: Your device will automatically Reset to Factory Defaults during a software update. This erases your vocabulary. If you have made changes to your vocabulary that you want to keep, use the TRANSFER MEMORY MENU in the Toolbox to save your vocabulary to a USB flash drive before you begin the software update.
1. Plug your USB flash drive into the USB port on the left side of your device case or use one of the USB ports in the connector module on the back of your case.
2. Plug in your battery charger.
3. If your device is not already On, turn it ON.
4. Go to the Toolbox.
5. Select the MAINTENANCE MENU in the Toolbox.
6. Select the Update Software option.
7. Select YES to continue.
8. Select YES to continue
9. If you saved vocabulary earlier, use the TRANSFER MEMORY MENU to load it back into your device. You will need the USB flash drive you used to save your vocabulary.
NOTE: If you load old vocabulary back into your device, you will lose any MAP fixes or MAP changes that may be part of the new software.
10. Remove the USB drive from your device and put it in a safe place. You may also unplug the battery charger if your device has enough charge.
