Basic Battery Information for Accent

Always use the battery charger that came with your device.  Any other charger may damage your batteries.

The Accent may have come with one battery or two, depending on the order placed.

How long your batteries will last on one charge depends entirely upon how much you are using your device. If you are talking, listening to MP3s, using the Bluetooth, and using a computer all at the same, or nearly the same time, your batteries will not last as long as they will if you are mostly doing just one thing on your device for most of the day. You may find you can get around 8 hours of use out of a charge or you may find that you use your device so heavily that you only get 3-4 hours out of a single charge.

You will have to spend a few days or a week using your device every day in different ways to learn how much battery life you will get from a single charge.

If the batteries are only lasting 2 hours on a new device:

battery mode settings

You may be experiencing a setting change under the Battery Menu. Go to the Toolbox to Battery Menu. On the right of screen, you will see the Battery Mode option. This setting must be set to 0. If set to 1, both Accent batteries will not be in use, cutting your battery life short.

If you plan to store your device for a month or more without using it:  put the unit in Shipping Mode. Open the MAINTENANCE MENU in the Toolbox. Select Battery Menu and then select Enter Shipping Mode.  A yellow box will appear asking you if you want to Enter Shipping Mode Now?  Select YES. Unplug the battery charger and store it in a safe place.

Low Battery Warning

When the batteries in your device get low, you will hear a Low Battery Warning. This is a two-toned running beep. When the Low Battery warning sounds, you can no longer do any storing. The warning will continue to sound at intervals until the batteries are dead. When the batteries are dead, the device powers down completely and you cannot use it.

Battery LEDs

There are two LEDs in the top middle of the front of the case.

The LED on the left will blink when the battery charger is plugged in.

The LED on the right will blink when the batteries are low and need to be charged.

When the batteries are low, the Low Battery LED will blink. When you hear the Low Battery warning and/or see the blinking Low Battery LED, plug in the battery charger. The Battery Charging LED will begin to blink to indicate the charger is plugged in.

IMPORTANT!  Forcing the charger tip in too far will damage your device!

A complete charge, from dead battery to fully-charged battery, will take 9-10 hours.  Your charging light / lighting bolt icon will also go to a slow blinking trickle charge when the battery is full.
