Using the Bluetooth Wireless Adapter
IMPORTANT NOTE! Before you plug your Bluetooth wireless adapter into your computer:
The wireless adapter has a PRC label on one side and a label with a circular switch icon in white on the other side. The switch label covers a small switch called the "pair button". You will have to press the switch icon on this label during the set-up process. Depending on where the USB ports are on your computer, it may be difficult to reach the switch and also reach your communication device. You may want to use the USB extension cable that came with the adapter, to place the adapter in a more convenient location.

Follow these instructions for setting up the Bluetooth Adapter:
1. Plug the Bluetooth adapter into the USB port on your computer. Remember where the label with the white switch icon is on the adapter. The LED on the adapter will flash for a moment when you plug it in.
2. On your communication device, got to the Toolbox and select the OUTPUT MENU.
3. Set Output to ON.
4. Set Output Destination to EXTERNAL (not all PRC devices have this option.)
5. Set Output Method to Bluetooth.
6. Press the Pair with BT Adapter option.
7. You will see a yellow box telling you to press the Pair button on the adapter. Press the circular switch icon on the Bluetooth adapter
8. The LED on the adapter will flash blue. When the adapter is paired up with your device, the LED will emit a solid blue light. This can take up to 20-30 seconds.
9. Exit the OUTPUT MENU and go to your spelling overlay or vocabulary overlay.
10. On your computer, open a word document or an application you can type into.
11. Begin typing on your spelling overlay or select a word from your vocabulary overlay. Your information should appear on your computer screen.
Important Notes:
A: It does not matter in what order you perform steps 6 and 7. You can press the switch icon first, and then press the Pair option in the OUTPUT MENU or vice-versa.
B: Once your adapter is paired with your device, it should remain paired. You can remove it from your computer and the next time you plug it in, the LED should turn blue and it should be ready to go as long as your OUTPUT MENU is set correctly.
C: The Bluetooth adapter has a wide range. Your communication aid and the adapter do not have to "see" each other like infrared devices do.
