How can I get the maximum the number of hours from my Pathfinder battery?

On average you will get 12 hours of life from the Pathfinder battery pack before it needs to be recharged.

If you are using the Internal Tracker headpointer, you will only get 6 hours of battery life because the internal camera is always on while the device is on and requires more power to operate

If you notice that you are not getting the maximum hours of life from your battery pack there are a few settings  to check in order to maximize the life of your battery pack.

1. In the MAINTENANCE menu change Backlight Shut Off  from 10 minutes to 5 minutes.
The sooner your display shuts off when the Pathfinder Plus is not in use, the less battery life wasted.

2. In the FEEDBACK menu, reduce the Brightness and Contrast settings if you can
The lower the setting, the less power used and the longer your battery will last.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Remember you are trying to maximize your battery life, but not at the expense of the device user.

3.  When you unplug your charger after you have done a full charge of the battery, the Battery Status should show that it is at 100%.

If the Pathfinder Plus battery doesn't show 100% after you removed the charger, this may indicate that either your charger isn't supplying enough voltage to charge the battery pack or you haven't had the charger plugged in for at least 6 hours.

NOTE:  If you unplug the battery after a full charge and the battery status does show 100% but the battery does not last at least 8 hours, it is time for a new battery pack.  On average, a battery pack will last 2 years before it needs to be replaced.  PRC guarantees all battery packs for at least one year. If you find you need a new battery, call the PRC Sales Department. 1-800-262-1933.
