How do I Create an Activity in ECO2?

1. Go to the Toolbox and activate the CREATE ACTIVITY key.

2. Spell a name for your new Activity. For example you might spell, "Baking".

Activate OK when you have finished spelling.

3. Choose an icon for the Activity from one of the Icon Categories. In this case, you might want to select an icon from the FOOD Category under DESSERT/PUDDING and select the food you are making.

4. Now you will see the screen that allows you to create the keys in your Activity. The second key in the Activity is highlighted in red.

MORE ITEMS and Choose Activity are automatically added to the end keys in any row.

5. Select DECtalk or Recorded speech.

6. If you selected DECtalk select Spell Text for Message. .

Add the text to go with the key, for example, "We need a bowl." (don't forget to add a space at the end of the word). Select OK when you finish.

If you selected Recorded, record your message now by selecting the  RECORD MESSAGE key.

Note: If you make a mistake when you are creating the contents of a key, select Clear Key Contents and start over.

7. Choose an icon for the key from the Icon Categories. *When you select an icon, your device automatically inserts the icon name as a text label for the icon. If you do not want your device to speak the icon name, change the icon label or select a different icon. If you want a blank label, type a space instead of a word.

Below is an example of the BAKING activity with several keys programmed.

8. If you plan to use Picture Prediction™, select whether you want this key's position to be Locked or Unlocked. If Locked, the key position will never move in the Activity Row.

9. Use Change Key Color to change the color of your key. (You could make all the keys in this activity the same color.)

10. Activate the next key you want to define and repeat these steps.

11. When you have completed the Activity, select OK. Then go to your overlay and test the Activity.
