How do I use Icon Tutor for my SpringBoard Plus?
The Icon Tutor helps you to learn the sequences where specific words are stored. It searches for icons associated with the overlay you are currently using. It is a good idea to Update your Icon Tutor before Searching for your word to make sure the search data is accurate.
Updating Icon Tutor:
1. If you do a lot of customizing to your vocabulary, you should update Icon Tutor periodically to reflect the addition of new words and also if you are using the Icon Tutor for the first time.
2. Select Review Vocabulary Menu then Update Icon Tutor to update.
3. An update may take a few minutes. You will see a box that asks you to please wait.
4. When the update is over, your device will beep.
5. If you use the MTI to load a new vocabulary into your device use the Update Icon Tutor option to add the new vocabulary to the database.
Using Icon Tutor:
1. In the Toolbox, select Review Vocabulary Menu.
2. Activate the option, Search Icon Tutor.
3. You see your spelling page. Type in the word you want to search for, e.g., "like".
4. The Icon Tutor searches the database for the overlay you are currently using and presents you with all the sequences where the word "like" is used. In the 15-location overlay there is only one sequence. In the 32-location overlay there may be more sequences. You can then write down the sequences for later use (or memorize them).
