How do I Reset the ECOpoint?

If your ECOpoint is just not responding the way it should and you have verified that your Eye Track Status is positioned correctly and you have calibrated the ECOpoint, there are several resets that can be done to improve the performance.

First, you will want to try Shutting Down Windows completely.  If you currently do not do this a couple of times a week, it is a good idea to start this practice.  Shutting down Windows helps with the software operation of Windows and clears buffer programs and data for better performance.

To Shutdown Windows, select the Toolbox key on the top of your case, then go to Maint Menu Maintenance menu key, then Windows Power Management Windows Power Management menu   Make sure your I/O Function is set to Shutdown in the yellow box, then select the key that says Shutdown Windows.  Once the unit powers down completely, select the I/O button on the top of the case to power the ECO back on and try your ECOpoint again.

Next, if your ECOpoint is still not working properly you can try to Reset the ECOpoint:

Select the Toolbox key on the top of your case, then go to Maint Menu Maintenance menu key, now select Hardware Diagnostics, now choose ECOpoint MenuEcopoint menu key.

Ecopoint Menu

On the left side of your screen you will find Restart EyeGaze Application and Reset ECOpoint Unit.

By selecting the Restart EyeGaze Application,  this unloads the software and reloads the program back into the ECO, removing any glitches or impurities that may have loaded  the software improperly.

The Reset of Choice:  By selecting the Reset ECOpoint Unit, unloads the software,  turns off the ECOpoint hardware, turns on the ECOpoint hardware, then loads the ECOpoint software once again.  This is the preferred reset since it supports both software and hardware.

TIP:  If you select Erase Calibration Data, you must Restart EyeGaze Application to restart the software before Re-Calibration the ECOpoint.
