Why will my Springboard Lite not Record?
If you are trying to record a message in the SpringBoard Lite, but nothing will play back, there could be several things happening.
My Device Won't Record!
If when you press and hold down the Record Message, you see the word recording flash for a brief second then disappear, you may have a setting that needs to be changed so the SpringBoard Lite will record properly.

You will want to check this setting by going to the Toolbox, then enter the Access Method Menu. Here you will find the setting called Activate Key When. This should be set to Pushed. If set to Released, the device will not record a message. Select Pushed then OK to exit, then try recording your message again.
Why do I Only Hear White Noise after Recording?
If this Setting was correct and if the device shows Recording when Record Message is held down, but only plays back white noise when Listen to Recording is selected, then your Internal Microphone may be damages.
The Microphone is located in the front of the case and is often mistaken for a Reset button. Many have inserted a paperclip into this whole thinking they are resetting the device, when actually they are damaging the Microphone.
On SpringBoard Lite devices, there is an External Microphone Jack located on the left side of the device. If you have an External Microphone available, you can plug it into this jack and record your messages. Simply remove it when you are done. Please call PRC Service it you would like the Internal Microphone replaced. 1-800-262-1990
