Programming a Macro to Turn on the Mic Phone Feature

When placing calls, there may be times when you want to have the Microphone turned on to speak or to allow others in the room to join in on the conversation.  Currently when you enter the Phone Dial Pad, the Microphone option is automatically turned OFF.  You can create a macro that takes you to the Phone Dial Pad then allow the device to automatically turn on the Microphone.

Here is the Macro to automatically turn ON the Mic:

1.  Navigate to the location where your activity row or phone page is that has the Dial Pad key on it.

2.  Press user key #2 on the top of the device case. The text bar should say “Select the key you wish to modify or select a key in the status area”.

3.  Now press the “Phone Dial Pad” key.

4.  Press “Spell Message or Define Key Function”.

5.  Remove the Promp Marker tool and other text leaving only <Phone-Dial-Pad>  Press “Insert Tool” and select the tool called “Activate Key”.

6.  Select the 84 location and on the blank overlay that appears press the key in the 3rd row down and 10th column over. (Row3,Col10)

Your macro should appear as follows:

10.  Press “OK” to exit the modification menu.

Return to your Phone activity or Page and try it out.

NOTE:  With this macro, when the Dial Pad key is selected, the Microphone will always be turned ON until you enter the Phone Dial Pad and turn OFF the Mic option.  If you do not always want to use the microphone, you may want to program 2 Dial Pad Keys, one with the macro and one that simply just takes you to the Dial Pad with the Microphone OFF.
