Installing a New Spanish Software Card in the Springboard Plus.
IMPORTANT! If you have added your own vocabulary in the Springboard and you want to save it, perform a memory tranfer BEFORE you update your software!
To Install the Spanish System Software:
1. With the device turned OFF, open the Memory Card Door on the left side of the Springboard case.

Press in on the door with your thumb or a finger and pull out/down on the edge (or lip) at the top of the door. (If the door will not open by hand, you may need to use a regular screwdriver or table knife at the top of the door and push down.)
2. Now look inside the opening. Your current system software card is seated in the card slot inside. You will find a piece of tape on the end of the card. Grasp the tape and pull the card out of the slot, taking note which side is UP on the card, so the replacement card can be inserted the SAME way.
Insert the new software card into the slot with the proper side up. Push the card all the way in until it is even with the edge above it.
3. Close the memory door by pushing in on the bottom part of the door until it clicks shut.
Reset the SpringBoard:
When your new card is in place, you must reset the SpringBoard in order for the changes to take place and the new software to load. You will need your battery charger available to do this.
1. Turn the SpringBoard ON and flip the device over so it is face down. Lift up the the table stand on the back. There is a small hole under the left leg of the stand.

2. Unbend a paper clip and gently insert it into the hole and press down slightly on the reset button. Remove the paper clip and turn the device over. You should now see the screen flash and reboot. If not, try pressing the reset button once again.
Once the SpringBoard has been reset, you will see a message telling you to plug in your battery charger. You MUST do this or the SpringBoard will not accept the new software.
When the charger is plugged in, the software will load. This may take 2 - 3 minutes and you will see a graphic on the display with the loading process.
Memory: If you saved your memory, use the MTI to transfer the memory back into the SpringBoard.
Important Note about PCS Symbols: If you were using the PCS Symbols on your SpringBoard and updated your software, you will need to re-activate the PCS Symbols by re-entering the password. If you do not have your password, you will need to contact PRC Sales Department 1-800-262-1933 and tell them you need your original PCS symbol password. You must also supply them with the serial number of the device and the Keycode within the unit.
