How do I Install my Bilingual Software Card in the Vantage2/Plus?
IMPORTANT! Your Vantage must be Serial Number 2500VT or higher to run 5.06 + software and have Deviation 7 installed on the circuit board. If the Vantage+ or Vantage PLUS has been repaired since August, 2009 this deviation would have been added by a PRC Technician. If you are unsure if your device has this deviation, please Call (1-800-262-1990) or Email PRC service (service@prentrom.com) with the Serial Number of the device to confirm this. If the device does not include this deviation, the unit will need to return to PRC.
Note: If you have customizated vocabulary that you want to keep, you must first perform a Memory Transfer to Save the User Area. If you have Infrared Commands stored in the device you want to save, you must Save Entire Device Contents to save the Commands. If you do this however, your new Bilingual default overlays will be erased and replaced with your vocabulary.
To Install the System Software:
1. With the device turned OFF, open the Memory Card Door on the left side of the device case. 
On a Vantage, press in on the door with your thumb or a finger and pull out/down on the edge (or lip) at the top of the door. (If the door will not open by hand, you may need to use a regular screwdriver or table knife at the top of the door and push down.)
2. Now look inside the opening. Your current system software card is seated in the card slot inside. You will find a piece of tape on the end of the card. Grasp the tape and pull the card out of the slot, taking note which side is UP on the card, so the replacement card can be inserted the SAME way.
Insert the new software card into the slot with the proper side up. Push the card all the way in until it is even with the edge above it.
3. Close the memory door.
Reset the Vantage:
When your new card is in place, you must reset the device in order for the changes to take place and the new software to load. You will need your battery charger available to do this.
1. Turn the Vantage ON and turn the device over so it is face down. Lift up the the table stand on the back. There is a small hole under the leg of the stand. Vantage Plus units have the reset button located under the left leg.

2. Unbend a paper clip and gently insert it into the hole and press down slightly on the reset button. Remove the paper clip and turn the device over. You should now see the screen flash and reboot. If not, try pressing the reset button once again.
Once the Vantage has been reset, you will see a message telling you to plug in your battery charger. You MUST do this or the Vantage will not accept the new software.
When the charger is plugged in, the software will load. This may take 2 - 3 minutes and you will see a graphic on the display with the loading process.
Vantage Memory Reload
Memory: If you saved your memory, use the Transfer Memory Menu in the Toolbox to transfer the memory back into the device. Remember: Loading your customized vocabulary will erase some or all of the default Bilingual Software on this new card.
Important Note about PCS Symbols: If you were using the PCS Symbols on your Vantage and updated your software, you will need to re-activate the PCS Symbols by re-entering the password. If you do not have your password, you will need to contact PRC Sales Department 1-800-262-1933 and tell them you need your original PCS symbol password. You must also supply them with the serial number of the device and the Keycode within the unit.
