Connecting the EssencePRO to an External Computer via the USB Cable
You can connect your EssencePRO to an IBM or Mac by using a USB cable.
Connect one end of the cable to the Mini USB port on the right side of your EssencePRO. Connect the other end to the USB port on your computer (this may be on the front of the computer or in back, or both). If your computer and EssencePRO are not already on, turn them on now.
1. Go to the EssencePRO Toolbox and open the OUTPUT MENU.
2. Set Output to ON.
3. Set Output Destination to EXTERNAL.
4. Set Output Method to USB
5. Set Host Computer Type to either IBM or Mac, depending on what kind of computer you are using.
6. Select OK to exit the menu.
To test the communication between the Computer and Device, open a Word Processing program. Now whatever you type on the EssencePRO should come across to the Computer screen.
