Lesson 15: Create and Link a New Page

The Essence Tutorial contains more than 20 lessons. "Create and Link a New Page" is the 15th lesson, and is intended to assist you in customizing your vocabulary by creating a page and linking it to a location in your Essence vocabulary.
To create a new page in the Essence program, go to the Toolbox. The TOOLBOX key has an outline of a hammer and screwdriver and can be found at the top left on the device frame.
2. Select "Create Page from Template." When you choose to create from a template, all the usual Essence tools will be pre-programmed for you on the new page.
3. Choose a key on your new page to start programming. Continue to follow the prompts on the screen. When you are finished programming, select OK to exit the programming screen.
Now you will want a way to access your new page, so you need to link it.
a. Navigate to the place where you want your new page to be linked.
b. Select the SETUP KEY.
c. Select the empty key where you want your page link for the new page.
d. Select the key marked SPELL MESSAGE or DEFINE KEY FUNCTION.
e. Select "Page Link."
f. A message box will ask if you want the page to close after you select a key. Selecting YES will make the new page stay open for only one selection. Selecting NO will make the new page stay open until you navigate away from the page.
g. Select NO.
h. Navigate to your new page. Pages are in alphabetical order. You can use the key marked SPELL KEY TO FIND, or the key marked MORE ITEMS and PREVIOUS ITEMS. When you select your new page, it is linked.
i. You can finish by selecting a picture and typing a label.
