Modifying a Single Hit Icon to a 2 Hit Key Sequence
This is most often used for those Individuals that would like to add some vocabulary to their 1 Hit Unity program but are not ready to advance to the Unity 2 Hit or Enhanced vocabulary. These individuals may also benefit by advancing to Unity 2 Hit or Enhanced vocabulary and by using the new Vocabulary Builder software found in the Toolbox.

Our example today will be adding some additional words under the EAT key in Unity 45 1-Hit:

Currently in Unity 1 Hit when the EAT key is selected, the device prints the word eat in the text bar and the activity row changes to reflect a new food items.

Here you see the Unity 45 Sequenced overlay as an example of sequencing.

When the EAT key is selected here, you now have many other words to choose from including verbs and pronouns.
To add a 2 Hit Sequence in your Core Vocabulary, you must first erase the single icon selection.
Erasing a Single Hit Icon Message
1. In Toolbox, select Edit Core.

2. Select the key you wish to modify. (We selected the Apple key) Now press OK.

3. Press the Spell Message, or Define Key Function, then Clear Display

(The example we are using is the Apple Key, then the Verb key.)

Press OK to exit the spelling screen when finished.

7. Repeat steps 1 – 5 to add more words or phrases under the EAT key.
The example above shows several messages linked from the EAT key to reflect the same sequences found in Unity 45 Sequenced.
Note: Icon Prediction is turned ON in order to hide all other keys that do not have a message programmed on it. If your Icon Prediction is OFF, you may see many icons on your core besides the sequences that you programmed. Icon Prediction is a tool found in the Feedback Menu of the Toolbox.
