Notebook Tools in the ECO2.
Additional Notebook ToolsThe ECO2 software includes the Notebook tools available in the Pathfinder. With these functions added, a client is able to have more control over the production and modification of Notebooks.
Block Mark
Selecting the Block Mark key sets a marker at the cursor’s current position. When you then move the cursor using arrow keys, the text that the cursor passes over gets highlighted. A second hit on the Block Mark key removes the highlighting.
Highlighted text can be cut, copied, or pasted using the other editing functions.
Edit Mode
The Edit Mode lets you choose how you want to move your cursor through text. There are three modes: Character, Word, and Sentence. If you use your Edit Mode key in conjunction with the arrow keys, you can move through a document more efficiently.
Arrow Key in... | Character Mode | Word Mode | Sentence Mode |
| Move one character forward | Moves one word forward | Move to the end of the sentence |
| Move one character back | Move one word back | Move to beginning of previous sentence |
| Move up one line | Move up one screen | Move to beginning of the text |
| Move down one line | Move down one screen | Move to end of the text |
Edit Menu
This contains the Cut, Copy, and Paste functions as keys, and also includes a Find and Replace function.
Cut Block
Removes a highlighted block of text completely. You can use Paste Block to put it back, or put it elsewhere. However, if you perform any other text function, such as another copy, you will lose the text.
Copy Block
If you use the Block Mark tool to highlight a piece of text, you can use the Copy Block tool to store a temporary copy of that text and then paste it elsewhere.
Paste Block
Takes the contents of the last Copy Block or Cut Block and pastes it to where the cursor currently appears.

Find and Replace
This function allows you to search for specific occurrences of text.
